The Best Internet Marketing Strategies

So what are the best internet marketing strategies - indeed is there any single startegy that is the best?

Well, really it all comes down to the type of business you want to run and the type of site or promotional techniques you think are most suited to your business.

Let's assume you've got a product of some sort and you want to come online in order to get traffic (customers) and make some money.

The best strategy in this case may be to set up a single page website, optimise it for a few key phrases related to your niche and then throw all the traffic you can get at it using articles, paid links and directories. Similarly if you've got a few products you could set up a store using oscommerce and go from there.

Let's say you don't know what to sell but you do know that you want to work on the net, from home with all the freedoms that this can provide. This is probably the point of view of most people looking to work online.

In this case what I would do is the following...

1) Find a niche, any niche. Preferably something you're reasonably interested in and which has a high demand.

Even better try to find a problem for which you have the solution. This could be the cure for bad skin, how to pick up women or how to cure smelly armpits - you get the idea :)

2) Create or have created an info-product on your niche. You could even put together an audio version or maybe some how-to videos using Camtasia or a regular digital video camera. If you're starting out perhaps just stick with a document until you get into the swing of things!

3) Write up a one page sales letter to sell your product. Hire a good copywriter or learn how to do this yourself. As I've always said writing great copy is a valuable skill. Check out Joe Vitale's Hypnotic Writing book - it's my absolute favourite book on writing copy.

4) Sign up to Clickbank or Paydotcom and register your product. Once you've sold a few copies of your book/audio/video you'll start to gather affiliates who will do the selling for you.

5) Drive traffic to your sales letter. Of course there are a million ways to do this - I still swear by article marketing as its served me so well.

6) Collect money
