Bum Marketing Is A Waste Of Time - Discuss...

Over the past few months there's been a whole bunch of hoopla about why bum marketing is the easiest and quickest way to get earning online.

Basically you pick keywords with a small amount of competition, you write articles based around these keywords, you link from these articles to an affiliate product of your choice.

You then submit these articles to a number of article directories (preferably those with a high PR) and you watch as your articles rise to the top of the Google rankings, people click on your links and you make some nice affiliate commissions.

Of course it's never as easy as it sounds and it does mean writing (or outsourcing) a large number of articles. However, if you do your keyword research correctly then there's no doubt that it does indeed work.

So why oh why am I saying it's a waste of time?

Because the links are pointing to someone else's site!

Listen, the advantage of building a business on the net is the massive amount of leverage that you can build up but only if you have your own site. What's the point of writing a mass of articles for an affiliate product, sending traffic to someone else's page and hoping that you might just make the odd sale?

Sure it's an easy to understand way in for people new to internet marketing BUT you would be better off learning how to build a site or blog and then writing a whole bunch of articles for your own sites...bringing traffic to your own business where you can then present affiliate products, adsense and build your own list.

Work smarter not harder.

Here's how to get your own internet business in the fastest amount of time.

Go to Need An Article and request 20 articles on a niche subject of your choice. Base these articles around the "low hanging fruit" of your keyword research from Wordtracker.

Build a simple site with a header, navigation menu and sitemap on XSitePro. Add these articles, maybe one a day to the site.

Request (or write) another bunch of articles on the same subject and submit them to article directories, use Article Marketer or do it by hand. Submit your site to directories and social networking sites.

In a few days or weeks you'll begin to see visitors. Now keep building and growing and begin to monetize.

This can realistcally be done in a day (you'll just be waiting for the articles to be written) and crucially you're building your own, powerful business.
