If You Build It…
…they may not necessarily come. ![]()
But if you can get traffic to your site (and that's the tricky part) then how should you monetize that traffic?
Here's what I do…
I pick some juicy, reasonably low competition keywords.
I build a bunch of pages based around these keywords, usually farming out the article writing to need-an-article.net
I hire a designer to build a nice header and footer for me.
Then I start driving traffic to the site using articles and the 3 way links system. If you pick the right keywords that's generally all you need.
So far I've put no advertising on my site at all.
I let my site get indexed by Google and when I start to see the first few visitors, I'll maybe add some adsense to the article pages to get some initial cash.
I also add a subscribe form and start building a list, maybe just sending out a sequence of emails pointing them to articles on the site.
Once traffic is steady and my list is growing, I'll start building pages based around affiliate products, either as reviews or just straight out recommendations. I feel it's good to be honest here so I don't always do positive reviews - this has the side effect of making the positive ones sell even better.
Finally I'll start to develop my own product if it's necessary (and it isn't always)
So that's really the system you can apply to any niche. Adsense - Affiliate - Own Product is how I go about things.

Hi Matt,
I really enjoy reading your articles and posts. As I said before, you are one of the few people who skip the hype and just tell the truth. I really like that.
Thanks,
