Make It Obvious…
Have you ever toiled away at a website, done your research, chosen some keywords, designed it beautifully, built a ton of backlinks and then…
Felt your heart sink when none of this translates into sales?
I mean…not even a solitary click on your affiliate link.
You've followed all the "rules", done everything by the book and yet…no one wants to buy the product you're promoting.
You're sure it's not the product itself as it's popular and plenty of other folks are promoting it so…
What is it?
What have you done wrong?
Why is Internet marketing so darn frustrating!?
I'm willing to bet you…like me…are not comfortable selling.
You see, the majority of folks like to get into online marketing because they like the idea of tapping away at a keyboard from home and making a few bucks. Now, there's nothing wrong with that.
But…when it comes to actually clinching the sale (even as an affiliate) they act like a wet lettuce.
If you're just pasting the banner ads given by the affiliate program or embarrassingly hiding away your advertising in the corner of your blog…you're repelling the money.
Sometimes, you have to just be shameless and ask for the sale. You have to slap your sales copy right in the face of your prospect.
Internet surfers are in a trance…you need to avert their gaze in your direction, point them to your offer and make them want what you're selling.
And there's no shame in that.
When I started out, I spent all my time making sites I was proud of and assuming the money would take care of itself. Did you know you have just as good a chance making great money with a grotty little one page site with nothing but text as you do with a 100 page content packed behemoth?
You've just got to ask for the sale - don't be shy.
Go and take a look at any of your sites now and see where you could improve your sales process. Are your affiliate ads direct enough, are they positioned clearly enough…do you have copy on you webpage that persuades people to click and buy?
If not…don't be alarmed if the cash isn't pouring into your account as you imagined.
Be bold and audacious. Ask for the sale…don't just ask…tell your visitors what to do and they'll respond favourably. Try it!
