Must Have Internet Marketing Tools

If this is your first time at The Complete Guide, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed...also don't forget to sign up to my newsletter above and get your FREE Quickstart Guide to earning online. Thanks for visiting!

You know, it really is one helluva lot easier to make decent amounts of cash if you use the right tools.

Sure, everything can be done for free: niche research, keyword research,  content creation, graphic design and site promotion - but really, you need to outsource and cut out the dull jobs as much as humanly possible.

Trust me, it makes a massive difference plus you can grow your business much quicker when you get other tools or other people to do the mundane jobs for you.

Here then and following on from my previous post about the best damn internet marketing info comes my must have tools…

Niche Finding

So you need an idea for a site or inspiration for an idea and for that I turn to ebay, Amazon, Google Zeitgeist and the brainstorming tool on Niche Inspector.

Just hit the brainstorming key and a list of niches will appear, all with the amount payable through PPC (and thus a good indicator of adsense earnings).

I did it just now and some of the ideas that came up were "home theater system" "gamecube console" "glossy photo paper" and "ice cream machine". Hmmm I now have a hankering for ice cream but also some great ideas for niches. :)

I'll then tend to use Niche Inspector to drill down into a niche and see how competitive it is before heading over to Wordtracker for more serious, in-depth keyword research.

Building A Site

So now we have a good idea what our site is about as well as a list of keywords.

Time to build the thing…

I've used XSitePro ever since it came out 2 or 3 years ago. I still don't know Dreamweaver or proper HTML coding and I have no need to because XSitePro does it all for me.

Bring on Version 2 I say!

I'll also attach a blog to the main website or if I'm just building a Niche Marketing On Crack style site I'll use just a blog.

And to build that blog I use the feature packed Semiologic Pro - expensive but worth it!

Graphics

Now, I do sometimes design my own graphics and then upgrade them later on… but eventually I'll consult a professional.

I just think that a really nice look to your sites will help with visitor satisfaction and thus sales or sign-ups. I used to use ECoverFrog but he seems to have gone walkabout recently so now I recommend 1800 Homepage - lush graphics and very affordable (hint: check out their XSitePro offers)

So now the sites built content is being written (or you're having it written for you - I use Need An Article) it's time to promote!

Links

Link-building is a pain in the backside it's no secret. So, I try and outsource it as much as possible.

I used to be a big fan of Article Underground but the sites they use have recently experienced a big drop in PR recently. I still use them, but I have a new favourite…

3 Way Links - wow. I can't recommend this enough. You plug your site into their system (you can have 50 per account) and over time they add 250 links pointing at your site with anchor text of your choice.

This flat out works.

Read my full review here.

I'll also get some directory submissions and some Web 2.0 submissions done via the Digital Point forums and I'll search out reciprocal links via SEO Elite (not essential but it saves time - the software that is, not getting reciprocals which is essential and can be very powerful as long as you're getting links from relevant sites.)

And that's about it.

All of those tools are ones I use day in day out and they've helped me build (so far) 20-30 successful sites (and a few more not so successful ones!)

Check them out, they're sure to help you. Got a favourite tool? Leave a comment…
