No One Talks About This…

…cos it's just not sexy.

It doesn't sound like the "internet marketing dream" BUT…it can be your key to riches.

After all, we all want automatic money right?

We all want to be able to push a button and watch as 100 dollar bills come spewing out of our PC -and, ok I'm exaggerating, but that's the dream peddled by the gurus.

Now, don't get me wrong.

I love the fact that my websites give me money whether I work on them or not - I mean, that's the ultimate lifestyle to me.

To make money without working.

But what if you're starting out and you don't want to stick with your day job until you've made it (after all, depending on how much spare time you have - that could be a long time)

What do you do in the meantime?

Answer: you trade your time for money.

This isn't something which is talked about a lot on the "make money online" forums or in the get-rich-quick ebooks… and that's because it takes work (and work is a 4 letter word!)

Of course the great news is… because so many people don't want to do it…it opens up a ton of opportunities for those of us who do!

Here are some examples of trading time for money…

  • Copywriting (my personal favourite!)
  • Writing articles
  • Writing blog posts
  • Forum posting
  • SEO for other folks' websites
  • Installing script
  • Designing graphics (ecovers etc.)
  • Transcribing
  • Programming
  • Being a project manager

These are all things you can be doing for other marketers which will earn you quick cash and help you learn something in the process.

Why not go and ask a marketer if he needs any help on, say, copywriting.

You could start off doing some work for free in return for finding out how he runs his business.

Once you've built your portfolio a bit you can then hawk your skills around other marketers and start charging.

Then raise your asking price bit by bit as word gets around that you do a great job.

That's how I got started copywriting.

There are all kinds of things you can do to help out other webmasters, in return you get to master a skill, learn about someone else's business and earn some extra cash that you can put into your own biz.

So next time you're sitting around feeling a little down because you made no sales that day…

Next time you're at a low because you just don't know where to start…

Remember… there are hundreds of marketers out there willing to pay you for your help - and the rewards in the long run can be tremendous!

Hi Matt,
I really enjoy your posts and emails. Of all the marketers, you are one of the few who actually provides helpful information.
I'm trying a few different things as I start out, and put together my first website which I'm trying to monetize, and was wondering if you could take a look and offer me some suggestions. I'd appreciate it, but don't feel like you have to if you've got too much right now on your plate.
Thanks,
Art

Hi Matt,

Good advice!

If a person begins to do some of the things
you mention in the post, they'll be able to
build a trickle income that can grow over
time.

As well, you may discover that you are really
quite good at a particular thing, such as
writing articles, and you may want to do a
selection of PLR articles that you can then
sell, online.

The main thing to realize is that there are
all kinds of good possibilities in each
person's life.

All the best,
Laurie

Hey Art,

Since I can't find your email - I'll mention your site here…hope that's ok?

The look of your site is excellent - that's a really nice theme.

I only wonder if you're targeting any keywords?

If you are, great, if not you're going to have to rely on word of mouth to get visitors - hang out in forums and do some social networking stuff too.

Also, links. You need links and lots of 'em. I see your page rank is only 1 so I guess you haven't really started link-building yet?

Anyway, great looking and useful site - good job!
