I'm often asked what actually are the best opportunities online right now. I would say that internet marketing itself tends to suffer from an overload of opportunity. The kind of people that get into this business are opportunity chasers - they tend to jump from one thing to the next, never really settling on something long enough to make it work.
Aim to build a network of sites.
Build a presence on the web. People nowadays talk about all the competition that is on its way. Poorer countires are coming online and they'll take a slice of the pie away from those already struggling to make a living online.
Nonsense!
The internet is so vast and there are so many different markets to work in that opportunity will never diminish.
You don't have to take on the big boys to be successful, you can find your own niche in an already crowded market and still make thousands each month.
Pick a topic like "weight loss" and then make a bunch of blogs or sites based around a smaller niche within it. Do your research in Wordtracker do determine which terms have the least competition and then just get building. Use the power of Web 2.0 and social networking sites to get visitors back to your site. There are so many ways to get traffic. But that isn't the core of your business.
For each market that you go for you need to grab surfers and crucially turn them into subscribers and customers.
For each of your mini sites run the same autoresponder sequence (as long as they share a theme obviously). Grabyour visitors with a free report and then just send them offer after offer.
This is where your network comes into play.
The bigger it is, the more email addresses you can capture and the more money you will make.
The real exciting stuff comes when you start to learn copywriting - this is where the gold lies. Not in some silly "system" for grabbing visitors and hoping they'll click on your affiliate links or adsense ads. You need to suck your customers in with excitement so they literally cannot take their eyes off your offer.
When you know your copy and your offer converts then you can start to build traffic.
Don't do things the wrong way round. Work on the core of your system and then dress it up with all the Web 2.0 stuff and get visitors through articles, PPC etc.
Build a list of subscribers, give them free reports and good inormation and eventually they'll be willing to buy from you.
No matter how technology changes, this is a fundamental that never will - appeal to your customers emotions and they will spend money. Never lose sight of how simple it really can be!
